Drying resin with compressed air
Drying resin with compressed air is the economic alternative compared to conventional drying systems (e.g. desiccant drying systems). This technology guarantees perfect drying results, low operating costs and a virtually maintenance free production.
Many plastic resins, depending on their type absorb humidity from ambient air. Humidity absorbed by resin (hygroscopic material) causes troubles during production processing. e.g. failure, surface defects or loss of mechanical properties.
The resin dryers from Fasti-Koch HmbH use dehumidified compressed air from the coustomers air system for the drying process (ERD Compressed Air Technology). When the pre-dried compressed air is expanded to atmospheric pressure, the dew point of the process air sinks to a low level. The process air is then heated to the desired drying temperature (depends on the material) and released into the drying hopper.
